We love this New York Times project, Once Around an Island, by Todd Heisler. In one day, the photographer walked around Manhattan and took photographs of people: A portrait of New York City through its inhabitants. The striking images remind us of the beauty in the everyday. Small maps inserted next to each photograph invite us to visit its locale. The interactive quality of the project also invites us to participate in the photographer’s journey and new way of storytelling.
